About
I’m Sean Stevenson. I write The Schematism, essays that look for rhymes across domains: how an idea in the history of science echoes in theology, or how an old cosmology helps explain a new technology. I read mostly in anthropology, history, history of science, and philosophy, and I take part in the Contraptions Book Club. This site is the permanent home for my essays, notes and reading. The newest essays arrive first by email through The Schematism on Substack.
